Configuring Skype

• Open Skype (by double-clicking on the icon)
• Click Tools then Options...

• Click Connection on the left hand side

• The top port does not need to be changed
• Both check boxes should be checked: Use port 80 and 443 as alternatives for incoming connections and Allow Skype to modify firewall settings
• The drop down box should then be set to HTTPS and the following proxy address
  • Host: wwwproxy.ru.ac.za
  • Port: 3128
• Check the checkbox labeled Enable proxy authentication. Input your username and password for the internet:
  • Username: g0xxxxx (Your Rhodes username)
  • Password: xxxxxxx (Your Rhodes password)
• Click Save
