Configure Mozilla Thunderbird

• Open Mozilla Thunderbird
• Click on 'Tools' and then 'Account Settings...'

• The 'Accounts Settings' window will be displayed
• Click on 'Add Account...'

• The 'Account Wizard' window will be displayed
• Select the radio button next to 'Email Account'
• Click 'Next >'

• Enter your name (e.g., Joe Bloggs) in the 'Your Name:' field
• Enter your e-mail address (e.g., g05z9999@campus.ru.ac.za) in the 'Email Address:' field
• Click 'Next >'

• Set the incoming mail server to 'IMAP' by selecting the radio button next to 'IMAP'
• Enter 'imap.ru.ac.za' in the 'Incoming Server:' field
• Enter 'mail.ru.ac.za' in the 'Outgoing server:' field
• Click 'Next >'

• Enter your Rhodes username (e.g., g05z9999) in the 'Incoming User Name:' field
• Enter your Rhodes username (e.g., g05z9999) in the 'Outgoing User Name:' field
• Click 'Next >'

• Enter 'Rhodes Mail' in the 'Account Name:' field
• Click 'Next >'

• Click 'Finish' once that you have verified that the information is correct

• From the 'Account Settings' window, select the 'Server Settings' tree item under the newly added Rhodes Mail parent tree item.
• Under the 'Security Settings' section, select the radio button next to 'SSL'

• Select the 'Outgoing Server (SMTP)' tree item
• Click 'Edit...'

• The 'SMTP Server' window is displayed
• Under the 'Security and Authentication' section, select the radio button next to 'SSL'
• Click 'OK'

• Click 'OK' on the 'Account Settings' window
• Your Rhodes mail box will appear in the 'All Folders' section of the main window
