What is a standard?

A standard is documentation (guidelines) that reflects agreements on products, practices, or operations by nationally or internationally recognized industrial, professional, trade associations or governmental bodies.

Where will you find standard information?

• Your Library will have some of the standards available. Ask your Information Librarian for more information.
• You will also find a lot of information about standards on the Internet. See this web site of ISO - International Organization for Standardization.

International and National standards

There are many international and national standards available. The following is a list of some examples:
