* Studied at the University of the Free State and obtained a M.Sc in Mathematical Statistics in 1982 and a Ph.D in Mathematical Statistics in 1986.
* Lectured at the University of the Free State from 1982 to 2008.
*Deputy director at the Directorate of Institutional Research and Academic Planning (DIRAP) at UFS from 2008 to 2012.
* Appointed as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Statistics at Rhodes University in 2013.
* Teaches at all undergraduate levels in Mathematical Statistics and Honours and Masters courses in Bayesian Statistics and Data Mining.
