Requirements: Windows 8
Windows 8 has only seen limited deployment by early-adopters on our campus thus far. Whilst we've got some experience supporting it, it isn't as comprehensive as our experience with Windows XP or Windows 7. In addition, only a subset of applications the University uses have actively been tested for Windows 8 compatibility.
However, our initial assesment is that Windows 8 suffers from many of the same limitations as Windows Vista did. Thus, like previous new-interface releases of Windows (notably Vista and Windows ME), we're expecting that it will not be possible to get many applications to work successfully on Windows 8.
Currently residence printing is known not to work on Windows 8.
For these reasons we are unable to consider Windows Vista fully supported on the Student Network — there are circumstances in which it is likely that it simply cannot be made towork properly at Rhodes. If this is a problem for you, you should consider either downgrading your computer to Windows 7, or not making use of this service.
