Cancer Cyclathon & Hair For CAIR 27 April

On Saturday the 27 April Ruth First House and the Cancer Awareness Initiative at Rhodes (CAIR) in conjunction with the Rhodes health Suite will be co-hosting a cyclathon running concurrently with a HAIR FOR CAIR. The aim of this event is to involve as many members of the Grahamstown community as possible, bringing town and gown together to raise awareness about cancer.

- Saturday 27 April
- Aerobics Hall, Rhodes Health Suite, African Street
- 09h00 - 15h00: Hair for CAIR
- 10h00 - 14h00: Cycling - cyclists ready by 09h45
Cyclathon Participation is as follows:
- Cycling will begin at 10:00-14:00-cyclist need to be ready to start by 09:45
- A donation of R1 a minute will be calculated
- Teams must book a bike for the full four hours
- Participants may cycle in teams to cover the total time. Teams of 8 or 4 to each cycle 30 minutes or 1 hour are encouraged.
- There is no age restrictions, however all part-takers need to sign an indemnity form prior, if under 18, parent/guardian
needs to sign the form. - Bicycles need to be booked by Monday 22 April 2013.
- If your team is made up of organisation employees, it is encouraged to decorate your bicycle and cycle in team t-shirts.
- Getting you cycle sponsored is encouraged as it increases awareness and gets more people involved.
Hair For CAIR Participation is as follows:
- R30 to shave, curl or braid your hair
- Hair for CAIR will run from 09h00-15h00
We all know someone who has battled cancer and many of us have lost friends and family members. This is our chance to honour them and make a small contribution to the race to cure cancer.
