Student Life
Below are a few stories from Students who are currently at Rhodes
When I first came to Rhodes I was very nervous, being the only girl from my school I wondered if I would make any friends. I settled into my little res room and started to feel a little homesick but just then came a knock at the door, my warden telling me to go to the common room for tea. This is where I met everyone in my res it was a fun event and from that moment on I have not felt lonely. Rhodes is a small campus but it has big party life and high standards which keep one in check. I moved into digs in my 3rd year and after having made many friends in res and on campus its been a wonderful year of freedom. The VC said at the beginning of my year, what you put in, at your time year at Rhodes, is what you get out. If you make an effort to make friends you will and if you want to have a good time you will, come in with a positive attitude and positive things will happen, this does not apply to test scores though you actually have to work for those being positive is just not enough. In the end I have had the best time of my life in this little town, fallen in love had great parties, lost friends and made them, it’s a complete experience of intensity which is hard to describe so its best one experiences it for oneself.
