The Learn-How-To-Swim Project
The ability to swim is quite reasonably considered a very important skill for anyone to have. The ability to swim is valuable in that it can save lives and open up a new world of sport and fun. Having realised that there is a large proportion of our community that do not know how to swim (most remarkably some of the ‘life-guards’ at the Rhodes Swimming pool) the RUUWC intends to attempt to begin a project that will teach as many as possible the ability to swim.
Goals and Objectives
To collaborate with one of the less privileged schools within the Grahamstown community.
Arrange a bus to fetch willing participants who want to learn to swim.
To teach as many people as possible how to swim.
We hope to have this project running by fourth term.
Inputs
- To teach certain members of the club to become instructors. We have the number of a contact who may be willing to do this.
- To employ or get instructors sponsored.
- We need to arrange a pool for these lessons to occur.
