Thesis Title

The biological and genetic characterisation of a novel alphabaculovirus isolated from litchi moth, Cryptophlebia leucotreta (Meyrick) (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae)

Supervisor: Prof. M.P. Hill

Co-supervisor: Dr S.D. Moore and Dr C. Knox

Tamryn is in her final year of her PhD. Her project is focused on the identification and characterisation of a novel baculovirus isolated from a laboratory culture of litchi moth, Cryptophlebia peltastica. With further characterisation the virus will hopefully be developed into a microbial control agent that can be used to control several lepidopteran pests in the agricultural sector.
