Range edge effects on performance traits of both non-native and native mussel species.

My main background is focused on marine ecology, particularly on processes, as well as mechanisms which are affecting intertidal habitats at small and large spatial scales. I am from Chile and completed my BSc in Marine Biology from the "Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción" (Concepción) in 2008. For my BSc thesis, I evaluated the detachment of papillae and blades as a potential alternative dispersal in the non-indigenous alga Mastocarpus spp. on the south-central zone of Chilean coast. In 2013, I obtained an MSc in Marine Science at "Universidad Católica del Norte" (Coquimbo) where I determined the role of the grazer assemblage on the spatial patterns of recruits of Lessonia after 'kelp-harvesting' activities. In 2019, I finished my PhD at Bangor University, where I evaluated ecological interactions between two congeneric limpet species in north-west Europe. As part of a post-doctoral fellowship at the Department of Zoology and Entomology (2019, Rhodes University), I will conduct experiments to test how different mussel species can be influenced by range edge effects
