Alawode Musa Ajibola

Alawode Musa Ajibola graduated with a degree in Fine and Applied Arts (Ceramics) in 2005 from the University of Ado-Ekiti now Ekiti State University, Nigeria and a Master of Art degree in African Studies (Visual Arts) in 2010 from the University of Ibadan. He has just recently completed a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Art History at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. His area of interest is contemporary Nigerian art with emphasis on the styles of graduates of Ife Art School.

Alawode has taught Visual Arts in different secondary schools in Niger State, Nigeria, and between 2013 and 2016, he was a part-time lecturer at Ekti State University where he taught the following Art History courses: Sub-Saharan African Art and Contemporary African Art.

He has participated in different conferences among which are: Zaria Art School @ 60 International Conference organised by the Department of Fine Art, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 2017; An International Conference organized by School of Environmental Studies, Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki, Oyo State, Nigeria in 2017; A Colloquium organised in Honour of Dele Layiwola FNAL at the Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria in 2018; among others. He has published in different reputable journals in Nigeria, and the title of his Doctoral thesis is “A Study of Styles of Selected Artists of Ife Art School”.
