Babatunde Adewumi Adedokun

Babatunde Adewumi Adedokun was born on the 4th of April 1965 at Saki, a town in the Northern part of Oyo State, Nigeria. Babatunde had his Primary Education at Ajegunle Baptist Day School, Saki after which he proceeded to Baptist High School Saki where he completed his Secondary Education in 1981. He had his B.Ed. Fine and Applied Arts in 1988 and an MA in Visual Arts in 1996 from the University of Benin and University of Ibadan respectively.

He registered as the first PhD candidate in the prestigious University of Lagos where he became the first PhD graduate in the Department of Creative Arts in 2012. Dr. Babatunde has been in the employment of Federal College of Education since January 1990, where he rose through the ranks of the academia and currently is a Chief lecturer at the Department of Fine and Applied Arts in the College. He has served the College in various capacities as Head of Department, School Examination Officer, Quality Assurance Officer, Chairman and member of Adhoc and Standing Committees and currently the Director of Academic Programs of the College. Though trained as Art Educator and Painter in his first Degree, his present area of interest which is evident in his PhD thesis is the veracity of motifs and designs that feature in Nigerian Traditional attires.

Dr. Babatunde is married to Patricia and they have four great boys.
