Paul-Henri Assako Assako

Paul-Henri Assako Assako has a Ph.D. in Art history and is a Senior lecturer/researcher at the Department of Arts and Archeology at the University of Yaounde 1 in Cameroon. He is the head of art History and Fine Arts Section. His academic research is focused on the transformation of visual art in the 20thcentury and the early 21st century in Africa and the language of “contemporary art”. Paul-Henri Assako is also the Director of “Libre Academy des Beaux-arts (LABA) de Douala” and the scientific and artistic director of “Cam on! Promoting art and culture: capacity building, social business and education in Cameroon”, a new project of the Italian N.G.O. ASSOCIAZIONE (Centro Orientamento Educativo-COE) in Cameroon supported by MAECI (ITALIAN FOREIGN DEVELOPPMENT COOPERATION MINISTRY) - Italian Agency for development cooperation (AICS).

Paul-Henri Assako Assako is a Member of the Arts Council of the African Studies Association (ACASA).
