Annual Community Engagement Awards
The Community Engagement Awards celebrate a year of excellence in the community engagement space, by recognising students, researchers and community members for their dedication to meaningful relationships with their community. These awards take place towards the end of each year.
Students and community partners who embody the values of community engagement are nominated or can nominate themselves to receive an award in up to five categories that encompass the many forms of CE. These categories include residence or hall of the year; society or sport of the year; student researcher of the year; student volunteer of the year and communiy partner of the year.
Nominations open before the awards and are assessed by the Rhodes University Community Engagement team. Nomination forms can be found below.

The Vice Chancellor's Distinguished Award
The Vice Chancellor's Distinguished Award is an award category that celebrates a member of the Rhodes community who has demonstrtated outstanding commitment towards manignful community engagement. The recipient of this award facilitiates a community engagement project that meets the definition of community engagement in the broader sense, meaning all scholarly applications of teaching, learning and research resources to meet the needs of the community/communities.
