Rhodes University and Durban University of Technology Community Engagement Symposium
Rhodes > Community Engagement > Community Engagement Symposium
The Community Engagement Symposium brings together academics working on community engagement research and initiatives across South Africa, as well as community partners and students with the aims of sharing and critically discussing experiences, learnings and theoretical implications in all of the elements of CE, including volunteering, service-learning and engaged research.
This is a unique, interdisciplinary space for learning, and one of a kind in the community engagement space. Rhodes University Community Engagement has been organising these spaces for sharing and learning for over six years and the last edition of the Symposium was in 2021.
A selected number of presentations from thet 2018 symposium were published in 2021, in the book 'Challenging the "Apartheids" of Knowledge in Higher Education through Social Innovation' (Bezerra et al.(eds.), 2021).
