The Rhodes University Community Engagement Week is hosting two flagship events during this year's community Engagement Week.
The highlight event is the launch of the VUKA! Makana initiative. The initiative’s objective is to connect Makana organisations/individuals with each other and create a structure for citizens to collectively take action to realise the potential of our beautiful municipal region. The initiative is built on focused Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that aim to address the crises we face in Makana. The launch will take place on Thursday 9 May from 16h00 at the National English Literary Museum.
The second event is a Community Engagement Imbizo. This is a day long programme where speakers will hold talks and workshops on Community Engagement related topics. This event will also run on Thursday 9 May at the National English Literary Museum from 09h00 to 16h00. This event will be immediately followed by our VUKA! Makana launch.
Here is a detailed programme of the day.
