Tracey Feltham-King

Tracey Feltham-King is a lecturer in the Psychology Department at the University of Fort Hare. Her main teaching interests are critical social psychology and research design. She is the co-ordinator of the Post-graduate research programme in the department.

As a former PhD candidate in the Critical Studies in Sexualities and Reproduction Unit at Rhodes University, her research focused on antenatal health services for pregnant teenagers. Her dissertation titled “Risk and responsibility: the management of the teenaged pregnant woman within the antenatal healthcare nexus” utilised a Foucauldian ethnographic analysis. Currently her research interests are focused on the many ways in which a diverse range of stigmatized individuals and groups are denied full access to reproductive and sexual justice.

She was awarded the PsySSA Discovery Health Best Student Presentation Award at the 30th  International Congress of Psychology (ICP) held in Cape Town in 2012 and the WMIER Doctoral Essay Award by the Contemporary Ethnography across the Disciplines in November 2016.
