RWL Conference Comes to SA!
The Researching Work and Learning (RWL) conference is the leading international research conference series in the field of work and learning. It is a critical platform for researchers and professionals to share research in work and learning, engage in dialogue with colleagues and experts from around the world, deepen their knowledge and advance the field.
This year the RWL10 conference will be held in South Africa at Rhodes University Eden Grove Centre, from 6th – 8th December 2017.
The theme is Transitions, Transformations and Transgressions in Work & Learning and Work & Learning Research.
After an overwhelming and excellent response to the call for abstracts, submissions are now closed. The accepted abstracts reflect a very high quality of research from a broad range of practices. RWL10 programme will feature paper presentations, seminars, panel discussions, round table discussions from 6-8 December 2017.
Guy Standing is currently a Professor at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Prof. Standing has been involved in labour research in over 25 countries and has an extensive publications record.
Edward Webster is a Research Professor in the Society, Work and Development Institute (SWOP) at the University of the Witwatersrand. He is the author of seven books and over one hundred academic articles.
Johnny Sung is the head of the Centre for Skills, Performance and Productivity at the Institute for Adult Learning in Singapore. Professor Sung is an international expert in workforce development, focusing specifically on training effectiveness and the link between skills policy and business performance.
Annalisa Sannino works at the Centre for Research on Activity, Development and Learning in the Faculty of Education at University of Helsinki where she is currently completing a five year Finnish Academy research fellowship.
Pre-Conference Workshops and Site Visits
RWL10 will offer several pre-conference workshops and site visits (educational field trips/tours) on 5 December 2017. To attend a pre-conference workshop or site visit, you should arrive in Grahamstown on 4 December or before 9 am on 5 December. Book your pre-conference choice in advance, as numbers will be limited, and pay for it when you register. The additional fee is required for your transport and/or meals. Places are allocated on a first paid, first secured basis. Please note that the pre-conference workshops and site-visits will run concurrently, you can therefore choose one or the other, but not both.
