Research interests: Social Learning enabled by mobile applications

I am originally from Cape Town, however studied my undergraduate degree, in Environmental and Public Development Management, at Stellenbosch University. I carried on to pursue my honours in Environmental Water Management at Rhodes University in 2015. In 2016 I worked for the City of Cape Town in the Environmental and Heritage Management office in Milnerton as part of their Urban Sustainability Internship program. I am very passionate about the natural environment and about striving towards a sustainable community. I love to engage with communities understanding the way these communities perceive and understand their environment. My work on understanding the social learning enabled by mobile applications will be situated within the Food For Us project, an UNEP sponsored project that aims to create a mobile application that redistributes on-farm Food Surplus. This is a incredible opportunity, and I hope to gain as much experience and knowledge from this process as possible. I will be completing my M.ed in Environmental Education at Rhodes University in the Environmental Learning and Research Centre under the supervision of Priya Vallabh and Professor Heila Lotz-Sisitka.
