Research, Teaching and Learning

relating to environmental sustainability

In line with its Environmental Sustainability Policy, Rhodes University strives to promote, support and expand initiatives and programmes that lead to improved understanding, development and implementation of sustainability education and research across all faculties and disciplines.

An ethos of lifelong learning empowers students and leaders – now and in the future – to remain critically conscious of their attitudes and practices, adapt to contextual changes, and meaningfully address environmental concerns as they arise, in order to promote a sustainable future on an ongoing basis.

Innovative research and development play a key role in finding sustainable solutions, as does a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach.
