New staff to the University have the freedom to choose according to affordability and their needs, from between 3 options:

• BonCap: A Bonitas product designed to help make private healthcare more affordable. It offers basic day-to-day benefits and hospital cover.
• BonStandard: This traditional option from Bonitas offers rich day-to-day benefits and comprehensive hospital cover.
• RUMED: A restricted scheme for Rhodes University staff only, designed with their specific needs in mind. It provides accessible, quality, affordable and comprehensive benefits.

A 50% subsidy is contributed by Rhodes University for the principal member and eligible dependants.
