development         of             age-appropriate training material (including career  guidance and social services              support) for at least 350  children per year (age groups ranging from 0 to 18 years) for  the Children's Ministry. Managed and oversaw the implementation of the  lessons leading a team of at le          ast 30 teachers a year. Contributed to  planning and implementing    Women's Ministry activities, including outreach

 and compassion. 

               

Helped at least 70 children AFM  Sunnyside Compassion Ministry get  school fees for primary, high school  and university education, enabling

 

them to continue and complete their studies.      

               

Facilitated for a nine -year-old migrant young girl in the Children's Ministry

 

who required open-heart surgery, whose parents could not afford.  Coordinated the efforts that helped  the girl successfu lly receive openheart surgery from the Christian  Doctors network at Steve Biko

 

Hospital in December 2021. She is well and back at school, living a  normal life.

collaborations with the Department of Social Development, Department          of Basic Education and the police to  address social issues affecting and  provide career guidance.

Conducted quantitative and qualitative research on biological innovations in South African agriculture focusing on wheat varietal changes. Analysed the economic impacts of wheat varietal improvement research from 1910 to 2017 and attributed the impacts to the Agricultural Research Council-Small Grains Institute and various sources of wheat research investments in South Africa. Collaborated with multidisciplinary and international experts from the University of Pretoria, University of Minnesota (International Science and Technology Practice and Policy (InSTePP Center), South African Department of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries and Agricultural Research Council. Project funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

  • Developed a national wheat varietal improvement database from 1910 to 2012 and is being continually updated by the Agricultural Research Council. The database contributed to my PhD research on the impacts of biological innovations on agricultural productivity. Also, the data was shared with the Agricultural Research Council, the Centre for Collaboration on Agricultural Research and Development, University of Minnesota InSTePP Center and other stakeholders nationally and internationally and continues to contribute to further research and influencing decision making and planning in wheat varietal improvements and the involve of the public and private sector.
  • Established, built and maintained relationships with key stakeholders and partner organisations that included the Agricultural Research Council, Department of Agriculture and Forestry, University of Fort Hare, University of Limpopo, the South African National Library involved in different aspects of wheat varietal data. The relationships contributed to the successful development of the national wheat varietal database.
  • Established relationships with the International Consortium of Applied Bioeconomy Research (ICABR) experts to share data and knowledge products on varietal improvements on other crops like sunflower and sorghum contributing to shaping research in planning crop varietal improvement research to improve productivity and food security.
  • Proven experience collaborating with multidisciplinary national and international experts in programme planning, design and implementation of data collection protocols, data cleaning and analysis, report writing and presentation of data and knowledge products to internal and external audiences.
  • Authored progress reports on wheat varietal improvement research component of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation collaborative research project between the University of Pretoria, South Africa and the University of Minnesota InSTePP Center that contributed to the ongoing planning of the project implementation.
  • Authored and published four knowledge products in internationally accredited journals based on the wheat varietal improvement database that was shared widely with internal and external stakeholders. The data and knowledge products continue to be cited widely and contribute to influencing further research, decision making and planning in crop improvement investments to improve productivity and food security.

Trained on computer-based, telephonic and face to face interviews to collect data for UNISA, government departments and private companies to improve employees' and students' health and welfare. Conducted data collection, data capturing and cleaning, leading a team of six research assistants for the following Bureau of Market Research projects: University of South Africa (UNISA) Employee Health and Wellness Needs, UNISA Student Health and Wellness Needs, Regional Student Satisfaction, Students with Disability

Satisfaction, Unemployment Benefit Fund UIF Satisfaction, and UNISA Employee Campus Security Satisfaction. The data collected from the above projects contributed to research reports that influenced UNISA decision making on, employee health and welfare, including university policy changes on the issues on the mental health of staff and students needs which were addressed by setting up helplines, guidance on infrastructure upgrades to cater for the needs of the diverse employees and students, including special requirements for those with disabilities in all UNISA campuses.

MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE & MINISTRY of WATER, Harare, Zimbabwe  

 

Supported the implementation of the $5 million National Input and Farm Implements Loan Programme, funded by the Government of Zimbabwe and multiple development partners to improve smallholders' and newly resettled commercial farmers' access to improved irrigation and other complementary inputs to increase productivity and ensure national food security. Designed, managed, monitored and evaluated the implementation of irrigation projects across nine provinces. Monitored and evaluated progress of implementation, prepared economic analysis of supported projects and analytical reports that contributed to influence and improve ongoing planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the irrigation input support programme.

  • Conducted appraisals and feasibility assessments of irrigation loan applications and recommended them for funding.
  • Conducted economic analysis of irrigation projects including gross margin and cash flow analysis for smallholder farmers and newly resettled commercial farmers.

  1. Organised and conducted field missions to train smallholder farmers and newly resettled farmers on agricultural input loan applications and provided technical assistance in their loan applications that helped increase loan approvals to above 50%.
  2. Contributed to redesigning the national irrigation programme to ensure more women farmer beneficiaries. Trained women farmers on the irrigation support programme application process and increased their success rate and the number of women beneficiaries increased by 20%
  3. Developed data collection tools (questionnaires and checklists) for field missions to collect data from irrigation programme beneficiaries. Collected, captured and analysed field data from farmer beneficiaries and developed national and provincial reports of the programme for the Department's decision making and planning.
  4. Managed monitoring and evaluation of the Department of Irrigation portfolio, leading a dynamic team of twelve national staff and nine provincial officers. Provided high-quality and timely monitoring and evaluation reports that contributed to inform the ongoing delivery and implementation of the National Input and Farm Implements Loan Programme. Identified key factors affecting irrigation projects implementation and provided recommendations to improve the successful implementation of the supported irrigation projects.
  5. Collaborated with colleagues at the national and provincial levels to prepare timely analytical reports that contributed to influence decision making in the department, ministry and cabinet levels. Prepared and presented monthly, quarterly and yearly reports on the irrigation portfolio performance reports on the supported national irrigation schemes for the Minister of Agriculture and Minister of Water that contributed to Cabinet reports and influenced decision making.
  6. Participated in the Department of Irrigation portfolio performance reviews of supported farmers and provided all relevant information on assigned projects.
  7. Organised and conducted regular meetings with provincial teams to ensure close monitoring of planned activities by beneficiary farmers and resolved any operational difficulties.
  8. Managed the tracking of expenditures on supported irrigation projects to ensure the effectiveness of financial controls, accuracy and timely reporting.
  9. Developed and maintained networks with diverse stakeholders including staff from other Departments in the Ministries of Agriculture and Water, provincial staff, and farmers.
  10. Mentored provincial staff and helped build their capacity to deliver high-quality and timely reports.

Conducted community surveys targeting residents living closer to the City of Harare Municipality farms to assess the impacts of municipality sewer work on their lives and livelihoods.
