Kayla teaches the practice and theory of Digital Media at the School of Journalism and Media Studies. She is the coordinator for JMS 1, and teaches digital media and media studies to JMS 1 students. She is also the teacher for the fourth-year BJourn specialisation in Digital Media. She teaches digital media on the Postgraduate Diploma course, and supervises postgraduate students working in the field of social media. She is currently pursuing her PhD degree in social media Digital Labour Studies. Her research interests include online activism, feminist movements, and questions of digital political economy.
