Rhodes University is delighted to announce that Ms Nomangwane Mrwetyana, Manager: Student Wellness/ Harassment Officer has been appointed as the new Director: Student Affairs effective from 01 January 2018.
Mrwetyana will be responsible for providing strategic direction to all sections of Student Affairs including Wellness, Sports Administration and Student Services.
Having been manager of the Student Wellness section since 2014 and a trained Counselling Psychologist, Mrwetyana is well versed in dealing with student needs and has over the last few years developed strong working relations with both the students and staff within the Rhodes community.
Mrwetyana, who is currently pursuing a PhD in Social Science at Rhodes, also holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of For Hare and an honours degree in Social Science from Rhodes University. She also holds a teachers diploma and has over eight years of experience in higher education – from which she has gained a deep understanding of the dynamics within the sector.
