All undergraduate students new to rhodes university (all years of study)

  • Have you applied to NSFAS?

If you have applied to NSFAS – please provide us with your NSFAS reference number.

ALL UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS NEW TO RHODES UNIVERSITY (WITH AN OFFER FROM RHODES AND ENTERING A UNIVERSITY FOR THE FIRST TIME)

  • Do you fall within the NSFAS qualifying bracket (R122K – R350K) and have not applied to NSFAS? If so, please urgently provide the following documents to RHODES:
  • Your SA ID/birth certificate
  • IDs of parents/guardians/spouse (whichever is applicable)
  • ID of all living in your household
  • Medical certificate if you are permanently disabled
  • Salary advice/pension advice of parents/guardians/spouse (whichever is applicable)
  • Affidavit that declares that the information that you have provided is correct and that you fall within the category of R350k and below
  • The NSFAS consent form available on the NSFAS website (www.nsfas.org.za).   Please download, print and complete this form.

ALL UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS NEW TO RHODES UNIVERSITY (ALL YEARS OF STUDY)

  • Are you are a missing middle student (R350k - R600k) new to Rhodes University? If so, please provide the following documentation to RHODES.
  • Fill in the 2018 missing middle application form

at http://www.ru.ac.za/studentfeesandfinancialaid

  • Rhodes will send the relevant information to ELAF (our verification service provider) on a date to be confirmed after registration
  • An SMS from ELAF with a PIN to log on to ELAF will be sent to students to complete and upload documents after registration
  • If you do not respond to the ELAF SMS you will not qualify for the missing middle grant

All missing middle students have to pay the initial fee upfront (options available in the fees booklet at http://www.ru.ac.za/studentfeesandfinancialaid)

Are you are a missing middle student (R350k - R600k)?

Did you receive the missing middle gap funding in 2017?

If yes – YOU DO NOT HAVE TO RE-APPLY

If no – PLEASE APPLY
