Rhodes University ombud contract extended
Rhodes University ombud, Advocate Les Roberts’ contract has been extended by Council from 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2023.
Adv Roberts was appointed as ombud in 2020 for a period of two years.
The ombud’s role is to create an appropriate channel for the final resolution of complaints involving stakeholders where complainants deem the existing University structures and processes inadequate.
The ombud’s office is independent of the University’s structures and is not an agent for the University or its structures. It does not aim to replace any of the University’s existing structures but seeks to complement and supplement these structures in the interest of administrative justice.
