Andrew Pinchuck studied at Rhodes from 1996 to 2001 obtaining a Masters degree in Mathematics. He subsequently spent one year working as a Teaching Assistant for the Mathematics department before moving to London, where he worked in a number of jobs outside of academia, including being a Laboratory Engineer for Epoch Labs. From 2005 to 2008, he worked as a Senior tutor in the School of Mathematics teaching mainly Engineering Mathematics.
In 2009 he took up a position of Lecturer in the department of Mathematics at Rhodes. He has completed his Phd in Mathematics through Wits University in 2011. His interests include Functional Analysis, Measure Theory, Engineering Mathematics, Numeracy and Mathematics Education amongst other things.
