INTRODUCTION

Only one family of South African neuropterans, the Sisyridae, has an aquatic stage in its life cycle, but larvae of the family Osmylidae are associated with stream banks overseas, and this may be the case here too. The list of species is compiled from Tjeder (1957), and excludes several species found just beyond our borders.

Information about the Neuroptera can be obtained from

Order: NEUROPTERA
