Biography:


Ntsika is a multilingualism lecturer in the Department of Primary and Early Childhood Education. He co-lectures in subjects such as LIfe Skills, Understanding the Social and Physical World, and Mathematics Education. He is working towards making content accessible in isiXhosa so that students have a good sense of how they would teach these subjects in schools where the LoLt is isiXhosa. He also lectures isiXhosa Home Langauge as a method subject to year 2 and year 3 students. He enjoys challenging novice teachers to think of effective ways of teaching isiXhosa Home Language and intergrate it with Life Skills and Maths. His MEd explored the types of knowledges required to teach GGR in no-fee schools where isiXhosa is the language of instruction. His research interest is in early literacy.
