Patrick & Margaret Flanagan Scholarship 2024

Rhodes University invites candidates to apply for the Patrick & Margaret Flanagan Scholarship for international full-time postgraduate study in 2024.

 

Eligibility: South African women with a good academic record are eligible to apply.

Period: A maximum of two years of full-time postgraduate study (Masters or PhD only).

Tenable: At any international university.

Value: Up to R1.2million per annum for two years.

Application procedure: 

The following documents are to be submitted to pgfunding@ru.ac.za as a SINGLE ODF document, saved as “Your Surname P&M Flanagan Scholarship Application”:

  1. Letter of motivation: The motivation should outline:
  2. Why you plan to study abroad as opposed to continuing your studies locally.
  3. What you plan to do upon completion of your studies abroad.
  4. Which specific postgraduate qualification you wish to pursue with this funding and why that specific programme.
  5. Which institution you wish to enrol with and why you have selected the institution.
  1. Detailed ACADEMIC CV
  2. including email contact details of three ACADEMIC referees one of which must be a Head of Department.
  1. A full academic transcript, certified.
  2. Certified ID copy.

NOTE: There is NO application form until the short-listing stage.
