Our research activities fall broadly into the field of drug discovery with a focus on the pharmaceutical potential of bioactive small molecules produced by marine invertebrates and their associated microorganisms. We are interested several areas within the drug discovery pipeline, ranging from marine biology, molecular ecology and microbial genomics to marine natural product chemistry, the development of drug screening bioassays through to fundamental studies on the mechanism of drug action in the target cells.
