My name is Maria Kandjungu. I am a 22-year old born and raised in a village called Oshigambo in the Northern part of Namibia. I have an Honours degree from the University of Namibia where I double majored in Media Studies specializing in Public Relations and Marketing, and English Studies.

I have worked as a news journalist at 99FM, which is a radio station in Namibia. I have also presented a current affairs program called Truth Be Told at the University of Namibia. I also did my internship at the Namibian Press Agency and after graduating, I got a full-time job at the Confidente, which is a weekly newspaper in Namibia.

Thanks to OSISA, I am currently doing my Postgraduate Diploma in Media Management that will enrich me with knowledge on how to manage a media institution especially in the fast constant changing digital era, which has shaken the sustainability of media at large.

Besides Journalism, I am very passionate about humanity especially children and ensuring a safe world for them. I am also passionate about youth development.  Whenever I can, I do charity work and create awareness on these subjects while partaking on the discussions that surrounds them.
