OVERSEAS WORK OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS

It has come to the attention of the Office of the Dean of Students that there are various initiatives operating on campus to recruit students for overseas vacation work.
Some of these initiatives appear to be using the personal details of students, obtained through the application form, to defraud funds from foreign income tax authorities.
Furthermore there are some recruitment agencies, advertising on the campus, which charge students application fees for recruitment and placement, but then fail to follow through with placement. Their efforts seem to be aimed solely at obtaining money from students with no intention of fulfilling their promises.

The Office of the Dean of Students, would like to caution and advise all students to exercise due care when using any agencies (companies and individuals), for the purposes of overseas job placement.
Secondly any individual found to be operating a scam from the Rhodes campus will face disciplinary measures.
