EMMANUEL'S GIFT

Be inspired - a fantastic documentary for you to see!

Date: Thursday 26 August
Time: 19.00
Venue: Zoology Major Lecture Theatre

This is the compelling story of Emmanuel Yeboah, who was born in Ghana with only one fully developed leg, but eventually bicycles one-legged across the country and runs marathons to change the image of disability. Shortly after Emmanuel's birth, not atypically, his father abandons the family, and his mother is advised to poison him. But, through support and encouragement from his mother, he goes to school and finds work rather than going out to beg; Emmanuel finds opportunities and makes a difference.

This movie is shown in support of Casual Day and the Association for the Physically Disabled (APD). Although not at all obligatory, voluntary donations for the severely under-funded APD, however small, will be welcomed, and Casual Day stickers at R10.00 will be available.

Since Casual day is in the September vacation (03/09/2010), this is an opportunity to wear your favourite Casual Day dress (the theme is: Dress for Laughs) or your overalls.
Hope to see you there.
