The Facilities Office needs to build up a pool of approximately 8 student Technical Assistants to provide ad-hoc technical assistance to the Facilities Office as and when required. This will include assisting venue users, effectively identifying problems and diagnose faults, and provide a quick, reliable and appropriate response to problems. They will need to ensure that correct software is loaded on lecture venue computers, provide technical assistance in lecture venues for high profile events and operate the Video Conferencing equipment when required
These student assistants should be entering their second year or above in 2011, must have solid practical and technical computer knowledge (as set out in the addendum). Extensive software and hardware knowledge is required. Audio visual equipment knowledge would be an advantage. The student should have a reasonable to light lecture load and be available to work after hours and be on call during the day.

The closing date for applications is Friday 17 September 2010, the competency tests are scheduled for 1 October 2010 and the Interviews are scheduled for 6 October 2010.
