Constitution Week – Legal Activism Campaign

Legal Activism is launching a Constitution Awareness Campaign as part of Constitution Week on 24 September (Heritage Day). The plan is to get 100 Rhodes Students into the Grahamstown East community to engage with as many people living there as possible.

Our goals are to promote the Bill of Rights by handing out Xhosa copies of it, and to communicate a few vital legal points that are relevant to the community in a manner that allows for maximum retention. We hope that through speaking to people we can learn more about the socio-economic realities and legal problems that people in the Joza community are faced with. Legal Activism encourages all students to get involved, especially law students, and will be providing training, transport and free T-shirts for volunteers. Do not miss the opportunity to make a difference! There is only space for 100 people so to sign up please visit our page at http://ruconnected.ru.ac.za/course/view.php?id=2183
