Mike Simson completed his Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree at Rhodes University in 1980 and he stayed in Botha House. Few years later he qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte in Johannesburg. In 1984 he had an eighteen-month secondment to the London offices of Deloitte which turned into a six-year assignment mainly in the firm’s corporate Finance Department. Since then, he has been a Director of fully listed group, Princedale and following its take-over, worked for the acquirers, Chicago based industrial Group, Marmon on M&A. He is now a partner in corporate finance firm Regent Assay and is also part owner and Director of an electronics company. He is an avid golfer, bad skier and a rugby fan. He used to live close to the Thames in London and regrets not having had the time to row join one of rowing clubs based there – the sport he fell in love with at Rhodes University. He now lives in Surrey.
