The Mandela Rhodes Scholarship is awarded to 40 young Africans with the potential to contribute positively to Africa as a continent. I was awarded the scholarship to complete an MA in English at Rhodes University in 2015. My research focuses on 4 South African authors, namely, K. Sello Duiker, Kgebetli Moele, Niq Mhlongo & Sifiso Mzobe. I am interested in depictions of post-apartheid identities in their urban fiction.I hope to pursue a PhD in the years to come.
