Nancy Dantas completed her MA in Contemporary Art, Theory and Criticism at the University of Essex under Professor Margaret Iversen. She has worked as a curator, independent collections manager, freelance writer, translator and educator. In 2008 she co-founded MARZ Galeria in Lisbon with partner Carlos Marzia. She is currently based at the Centre for Curating the Archive at Michaelis School of Fine Art in Cape Town. Her research interests include exhibition histories, tropes of dust, theories of historicity, critical archival aesthetics, the transatlantic slave trade and fugitive settlements.
