Jodie Pather was born on 14 March 1996, and obtained her BA at the University currently known as Rhodes in 2018.  She is currently pursuing her Honour’s degree in Art History at the University currently known as Rhodes with the NRF/DST SARChI Chair Geopolitics and the Arts of Africa, Arts of Africa and Global Souths research programme. She is also part of the research team Art on Our Mind. Her research interests include Black Feminisms in the African context, tracing roots of ecofeminism and the values of Black feminism in community arts-based projects.
