Shana Ellappa is a Graphic Designer, Marketing Communications specialist and Art Historian from Johannesburg, South Africa. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Design and Art History from Rhodes University in 2020. She is inspired by the colour, vibrancy and soul of Africa and her people. She believes that within our rich heritage therein lies powerful stories and innate creativity. In the city she calls home, Johannesburg, she witnesses constant innovation. She aims to capture, preserve and celebrate that in her work. Connecting, captivating and shifting people through visual stories that represent the unrepresented. Her themes commonly touch on African-Feminism, re-defining the narratives of contemporary South Africa and what she likes to refer to as “environmental artivism”.
