The Rhodes University Career Centre offers dedicated career counselling and education services to assist students in planning, developing, and achieving their career goals. Our mission is to encourage and enable students to make and implement well-informed decisions about their future careers.

Our Core Services

Individual Career Counselling:

  • One-on-one sessions (30–50 minutes) by appointment.
  • Open to registered Rhodes University students and prospective scholars applying to study at Rhodes.
  • Personalized guidance to explore career options, set goals, and develop actionable plans.

Career Assessments:

  • Tools to help students and scholars understand their interests, skills, and career preferences.
  • Assist with study choices and career development decisions.
  • Assessments incur a fee, with discounted rates for Rhodes University students. Details available upon request.

Workshops and Training:

  • Career development and employability workshops are held at the Career Centre, Rhodes residences, faculties, or departments upon request.
  • Topics include CV structure, cover letter and job application tips, interview preparation, and career success strategies.

Graduate Recruitment Services

  • Job portal advertising current opportunities for students and graduates.
  • Career fairs, company presentations, and networking events with organisations hiring new graduates.
  • Access to graduate publications and updates to help students explore opportunities.
