There are reports that the water situation has deteriorated once again. The following residences are currently without water: Livingstone, Dingemans, Amina Cachalia, Margaret Smith, Ellen Kuzwayo, Cullen Bowles. The standard emergency measures are in operation to keep basic services going.
The reasons for the outage are electrical: the power line is down, which means the pumps at the dams are not operating, which has caused a sudden loss of water pressure. The University is in constant contact with the relevant Municipal authorities. Electricians are working on an alternative supply to get power to the pump. Once pumping is resumed most people should receive pressure within about 4 hours.
