The Sustainability Research and Innovation Congress 2024 (SRI2024), held from June 10 to June 14, 2024 in Helsinki, Finland, was a significant gathering for those dedicated to advancing sustainability research and innovation. By bringing together a diverse array of stakeholders from around the world, the event encouraged collaboration, the exchange of innovative ideas, and spurred action toward achieving a sustainable future. With its comprehensive program and emphasis on inclusivity, SRI 2024 made a substantial contribution to the global sustainability agenda.
The Future Earth Africa Hub Leadership Centre took part in SRI2024) and this event was a significant milestone for the Centre as it organized a session to share the activities and planned strategy of the Future Earth Africa Hub and its Leadership Centre. The session, which was the Centre’s first one during the SRI Congress, was well-attended both in person and virtually. The Centre's involvement in the SRI2024 Congress highlights its dedication to advancing global sustainability efforts and connecting African sustainability science with the broader international community. The staff from the Hub and the Centre, as well as the sustainability science cluster- leads, delivered presentations during the session.
