The panel discussion, moderated by Dr Faten Attig Bahar, Deputy Director of FEAHLC, featured insights from Mr Lebogang Mpetle (FEAH), Madam Sharizad Dahlan (Director, UNESCO ISTIC), Prof. Nhlanhla Cyril Mbatha (Rhodes University), and Dr Daniel Nyanganyura (Director, FEAHLC). The panel explored three core areas: strengthening sustainability science capacities across Africa, leveraging international networks and partnerships - including collaborations with ISTIC - to enhance regional and global impact, and equipping early- and mid-career African researchers through targeted training, mentorship, and South-South cooperation initiatives.
The session successfully highlighted FEAH and FEAHLC’s strategic initiatives, fostering dialogue among researchers, policymakers, and international partners, and reinforcing Africa’s contribution to global sustainability science.
