In conversation: Four decades of artworks

'In conversation: Four decades of artworks by current and former staff of the Rhodes University Fine Art Department' will be part of the main Curated Programme of the National Arts Festival Makhanda this year! The exhibition maps four decades of artworks by RU Fine Art fulltime and contract teaching staff. Selected works from the RU art collection – which was started in the 1980s by former HoD and a founding member of the Grahamstown Group, Emeritus Professor Robert Brooks – are exhibited 'in conversation' with works by current staff, as testament to the significant contribution made by RU Fine Art to the visual culture of Makhanda, the Eastern Cape and beyond. The exhibition is curated by Dominic Thorburn, Maureen de Jager and Robyn Munnick for the 120th anniversary of Rhodes University (RU120). Come and visit!
