M. Rogan, working with an international research network, was the successful co-author of a large research grant awarded by the Canadian International Development Research Centre (IDRC). The grant was awarded through the IDRC rapid response call for proposals: Evidence to mitigate the socio-economic impacts and promote recovery from COVID-19.

M. Rogan was identified as the Co-PI of the study which aims to measure the impact of the pandemic and associated government regulations on informal workers in 12 cities across the Global South (including four in Africa). M. Rogan is the chair of the study’s research advisory committee and Dr. Laura Alfers also serves on the committee to oversee the research component of the grant.
