The NALSU team would like to congratulate Ms. Siviwe Mhlana, who has been awarded a full scholarship to pursue her PhD in Economics at the University of London's School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). In addition to being a member of NALSU, Siviwe is a Research Associate in the Department of Economics and Economic History at Rhodes and is based at the University of the Witwatersrand's Southern Centre for Inequality Studies (SCIS). Siviwe has a long history with NALSU where she has contributed to a number of projects, and where she completed her Master's degree by thesis. She will continue to be associated with NALSU and we look forward to further collaborations as she expands her research networks. We wish Siviwe all the best as she departs for the UK at the end of this month to begin the coursework component of her PhD programme.
