NALSU short course for unions, workers kicking off! Sunday 31 August sees the start of the Neil Aggett Labur Studies Unit (NALSU)'s latest short course, this time on "Political Economy and Economic Policy”.  Held in Makhanda, the short course is for workers from across South Africa, deployed by their unions in manufacturing, metals and engineering. Five lively (and intense) days of debate and learning, grappling with the challenges of today. Affiliates of all four federations are present: COSATU, FEDUSA, NACTU and SAFTU. The event is part of NALSU's short course programme, "Policy, Theory and Research for Labour Movements”, hosted by Rhodes University, in partnership with the merSETA.

Based in the Eastern Cape, NALSU is engaged in policy, research, and workers' education, has a democratic, non-sectarian, non-aligned, and pluralist practice, and active relations with a range of advocacy, labour, and research organisations.
