The two coxes rowed for their men's amd wome's teams during the RMB Universities Rowing Boat Race in Port Alfred. the two were chosen to have been the best coxes in the tournament. According to the Rowing Sports Administrator at Rhodes University, it is the first time that two rowers from the same institution win the trophy.
